Every customer’s needs are different, so to get a quote that reflects the vision you have for your unique space, it‘s best to schedule an in-home quote. If a meeting doesn’t work for you, you live 60 + miles outside of the Twin ports, or you simply prefer getting your quote virtually, you can send photos of the cabinetry or furniture you’re interested in having painted or refaced to us via email: Laura@lilyandgracefurnishings.com
You’re can also send your information to us in a message on our Facebook business page: https://www.facebook.com/LilyandGraceFurnishings
*Pricing for refacing services is based on: the door manufacturer you choose, selected door style, the size of your project, whether you intend to install your new cabinet doors, drawer fronts, hinges, and cabinet hardware yourself, or you have Lily and Grace Furnishings do the installation for you*
Lily and Grace Furnishings is located in Duluth, MN. We provide cabinet painting and refacing services in Duluth, Superior, Greater Minnesota and Wisconsin.
A $500 deposit is required for cabinet painting and refacing projects. Once your deposit is received, your start date will be scheduled, and your deposit will be applied to your quoted total.
*Projects cancelled 10 calendar days or more from a scheduled start date are eligible for a $250 partial refund. Projects cancelled less than 10 calendar days from a scheduled start date will not be refunded*
Because every customer‘s project needs vary, turnaround times do as well. Lily and Grace Furnishings makes communication our number one priority. When you secure your place on our schedule, we will work with you to select a convenient start date and you’ll be given an approximate timeframe for how long you can expect your project to last.
The turnaround time for standard cabinet painting (painting with one, solid color) tupically takes between 6-10 days, once we take possession of your doors and drawer fronts. Having old hardware holes filled/new holes drilled, adding glaze accents, or having a large number of doors/drawer fronts will usually extend a project‘s timeline by 1-3 days.
Refacing project timelines are dependent upon the door manufacturer‘s turnaround time, and project size. Most custom door orders take between 2-8 weeks to be built, shipped, and delivered. Once they arrive, the average wait time for your new doors and drawer fronts to be painted is between 4-6 days. Adding glaze accents will extend your project timeline by 1-3 days.
Whether you’re painting the cabinets you already have, or you’ve opted for new doors and drawer fronts, you will receive frequent updates and photos so you can follow your cabinet painting or refacing project from start to finish. In the event we run into an issue, need to make a scheduling change, or we just want to show you how beautifully your project is coming along, you can be sure Lily and Grace Furnishings will never leave you guessing.
That’s okay! We can usually find a way to make your vision for painted cabinets or refacing a reality. If you live more than 60 miles outside The Twin Ports, we are happy to schedule a time to meet somewhere in between, or pickup/delivery may be possible for an additional fee. From there, we will take your items back to Duluth, where they’ll be given a brand new look for a fraction of the cost of buying new. *Please note, additional travel fees will apply for all painted furniture projects not dropped off/picked up in Duluth by customers living 60 miles outside of The Twin Ports. Travel fees will always be included with your initial quote, so there will never be any surprise charges when you receive your final invoice*
When a customer receives a quote from Lily and Grace Furnishings, the price reflects the cost of painting services, and if applicable, drilling for new hardware, uninstallattion and/or reinstallation services.
Quotes for refacing projects are for Lily and Grace Furnishings‘ services only, and do NOT include the cost of new cabinet doors, drawer fronts, drawer boxes, hinges, or cabinet hardware.
Since Lily and Grace Furnishings does NOT build cabinet doors, or sell cabinet accessories, your new doors, drawer fronts, hinges, and cabinet hardware will need to be ordered from separate companies. While you’re welcome to order from the manufacturer of your choosing, you can usually get better pricing if you choose one of the reputable, online door builders Lily and Grace Furnishings works with regularly.
If the quote you receive works with your budget, the next step would be securing your place on our schedule. To secure your time slot, a $500 deposit is required for all cabinet painting and refacing projects. Suitable forms of payment include: cash, check, money order, or Zelle transfer. Your deposit secures your project‘s start date (date your cabinet doors and drawer fronts are picked up, or your cabinet bases are measured for new doors and drawer fronts).
For refacing projects: once your cabinet bases are measured for new doors and drawer fronts, you can place the order, or you’re welcome to give your credit card information over the phone so Lily and Grace Furnishings can place the order for you. *Credit card numbers are never stored, and receipts are sent to the customer immediately after their transaction is complete.
Your deposit will count towards the quoted total, with the remaining balance due the date your project is completed. Projects cancelled more than 10 days out from a scheduled start date are eligible for a $250 partial refund. No refunds will be issued for projects cancelled less than 10 days from a scheduled start date*
If you are having furniture painted, we prefer customers transport their pieces to us and pick them back up once the project is completed. Pick-up and/or delivery is possible, but may be subject to additional fees.
For cabinet painting and refacing projects, we ask customers to remove their doors and drawer fronts from the cabinet bases. If you’d prefer a more hands-off approach, you’re welcome to add door/drawer front/hinge/hardware uninstallation/reinstallation services for an additional fee.
Once your doors and drawer fronts have been painted, they will be carefully wrapped in a protective foam and returned to you, usually the same day your cabinet bases are getting their final coat of paint. *Priming and painting your cabinet bases inside your home typically takes 2-3 days, depending upon the project‘s size and your location*
Once your cabinet bases are painted and have dried for at least 24 hours, you or Lily and Grace Funishings can reinstall your doors and you can enjoy your reinvigorated space! *Customers will receive a “Caring for your painted furniture/cabinetry” guide, along with their final invoice*
Pre-finished cabinets and furniture sold in big box stores isn’t typically “painted”. It’s often finished with a tinted lacquer that is baked on, or wrapped in paper or foil veneer that mimics the look of paint.
Lacquered cabinets and furniture are very durable, but the finish can look and feel like plastic. While this type of finish provides the best protection long term, many people don’t care for it. If lacquered cabinets or furniture get chipped, it’s next to impossible to fix the blemish without it being visible to the naked eye.
Lily and Grace Furnishings uses Sherwin Williams Urethane Enamel paint, which is specially formulated to provide a gorgeous, durable finish without the need for a topcoat. This paint is amazing, but life happens. One rogue frying pan or an unfortunate run-in with an angry vacuum cleaner can lead to scuffs and chipping. The beauty of painted cabinets is the ease in which the blemish can usually be repaired. Under most circumstances, your painted cabinets can be touched up with minimal effort. When you receive your final invoice, there will be a short “care guide” included. This is where you’ll find directions for touch-ups, and tips and tricks for taking care of your painted cabinets or furniture.
*Lily and Grace Furnishings is always willing to assist customers with blemish repair, regardless of how long ago we completed your project, free of charge.
You can still give your kitchen or bathroom the look you’ve always wanted for far less than what it would cost to purchase new cabinetry. If you have laminate doors or doors with a design that doesn’t work with your vision, you have the option to purchase new, unfinished cabinet doors and drawer fronts. If you don’t feel comfortable tackling this task alone, we are happy to assist you. However, this service does come with additional fees.
If you are interested in refacing services, Lily and Grace Furnishings can measure your cabinets for new doors, drawer fronts, assist you in placing your order, drill for new cabinet hardware, and even do the installation for you!
*The cost for new doors, drawer fronts, hinges, hardware, and installation is NOT included with a standard quote for cabinet painting services.
